2011 Jerry Mullen's Top 100 Juco Camp Top Prospects

We'd like to thank our own Paul Swanson for his coverage of the 2011 Jerry Mullen's Top 100 Juco Camp last week at Lindenwood University in St. Louis , MO. The camp featured a deep talent pool that represented a large number of 2011-12's top junior college talent from across the USA. It featured a solid group of tralented big men a deep group of fowards and wing talents. In the back court the combo guards caught his eye, but like the prep class, the point guards seemed to lack in quality. Especially now, prior to the influx of division one transfers that will happen in August. So with that in mind, here's a look at the Top Prospects who displayed their skills at the Mullens Top 100 Juco Camp in St. Louis .

Top 100 Juco Camp Top Prospects
Centers -
Austin Waverly (pictured) 6-11 250 Palm Beach CC, FL. - Lake Worth Florida native averaged 18.3 points and 10.4 rebounds as freshman. He has a very long-NBA body. He is very strong and athletic, can run floor and blocks shots on "D". He works hard on glass and is aggressive around basket on ioffense. He can knock down jumper to arc.
Chad Posthumus 6-11 275 Howard CC. TX - Canadian University transfer - Very big body and very strong athlete-moves well for size and really runs the floor. He has ok bounce and bangs onm the glass. he can pop and hit 15-footer to keep "D" off balance.
Alex Brown 6-11 195 John A. Logan CC, IL - Carbondale, IL native averaged 5.6 points and 6.0 rebounds as a freshman. He is very athletic, long and lean, post man with a live body. He runs the floor, is built for transition, can block shots, or score around hoop with his length. Strength will be key to final level!
Matt Sellers 6-10 260 Western Wyoming CC, WY - Champlin, MN native has a big body, can bang around the hoop on glass or finish. he plays to the rim, but can pop shot in paint over bigs. He has surprising lateral quicks and used feet to get in position to defend and deny on the blocks.
Mike Samuels 6-10 255 Wabash Valley CC IL - Bushkill, PA native transferred to Wabash. He is long and has excellent body and uses it to get on glass and control space in paint. He is raw on offense, but showed potential at Top 100 Camp with touch and bounce at the rim.
Renan Lenz 6-10 225 Arizona Western CC, AZ - Brazilian Youngster has a long, strong, and live body. He averaged 9.9 points and 6.1 rebounds last winter. He is a good athlete with big time hops who blocked 3.3 blocks a game as a freshman. He's smart and knows how to play.
Chadrack Lufile 6-9 250 Coffeyville CC, KS - Canadian Youngster is a JC transfer- who is entering his third year. He has a pro body and is very strong and athletic rebounder who runs floor hard. He posts strong, but needs to build post game and use 17-foot range on jumper to raise his level. He is a solid defender too!
Keith Coleman 6-9 245 (FR) Marshall town CC, IA. Philly native has 3 years to play. He is a long and very athletic post with a strong-NBA body. He is an explosive leaper that aggressively rebounds out of zone. He has good hands, can post and finishes with strength around basket or step out and knock down 17-footer.
Demetrius Moore 6-8 215 NW Florida State CC, FL - Laurel Hill, FL native-is a very long-athletic-face-up four man who is a strong finisher with a good body. He runs floor and defends in paint and is an aggressive rebounder. He can post and uses his feet to score in the paint.
Steve Forbes 6-8 290 Brevard CC, FL - Melbourne, FL native has a huge body, but possess surprisingly quick feet & moves well for size. He definetly takes up space and knows how to use is body in post to rebound or score in the post. He has strong hands and catches everything in the post.
Power Forwards -
Shawn Jackson 6-9 245 NW Florida State CC, FL - Live Oak, FL native – D-1 transfer is a long,strong, and athletic power forward with face up skills to 17-feet. He can post you up, score with jump hook or a nice turnaround jumper in the paint.
Tony Criswell 6-9 225 Independence CC, KS - Oklahoma City, OK native is a D-1 transfer is very strong, long, athletic, and very skilled power forward. He is very explosive rebounder who can start the break and fill a lane. He can shoot it to three point arc on pop out too!
Cleanthony Early 6-8 220 Sullivan County CC, NY - Middletown, NY native averaged 20.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game as a freshman. He is a long, lean, and athletic power forward who-runs floor and finishes in transition. He is a tough rebounder and inside scorer with raw offensive skills. He has a huge upside on "O"!
Jason Carter 6-8 230 Chipola CC, FL - Richmond , TX native is a D-1 transfer who is a strong and physical power forward with a good body. He lovs contact in the paint and isn't afraid to bang and can score inside the paint. He is an ok shooter who can step out to 17-feet and knock jumper top keep "D" honest.
Marcus Bell 6-8 220 Marshall town CC, IA - Modesto, CA native is a very long rebounder who can swat or alter shots. He uses his body to control space, outlets and really runs the court in transition. He uses his quickness and length to finish around the hoop.
Orlando Sanchez 6-8 215 Monroe CC NY - Dominican Republic native averaged 8.6 points, pulled down 11.8 rebounds, and blocked 4.3 shots an outing as a freshman. - He has long arms and plays bigger inside than 6-8. He is a wiry strong athlete who runs floor, rebounds, and can shoot it to three poinht arc.
Calvin Godfrey 6-8 235 Howard CC, TX - D-1 transfer has a very good body with strong shoulders who can really rebound the ball on both ends of court. He has ability to pop, hit 15-footer, or attack the basket and finish in traffic. He can post you up and score with both hands on the block!
Bida Seck 6-7 225 Southeastern CC, IA - Senegal native averaged 4.8 points and 4.2 rebounds as a freshman, but had a breakout performance at the NJCAA Championships showing he can dominate around hoop on both ends. He continued to build on that at the Top 100 Camp that he is a long and strong power forward or post who can block shots and score with athletic moves around the hoop.
Michael Haynes 6-7 225 Indian Hills CC, IA - Chicago, IL native is a D-1 transfer is a strong power forward with solid athletic ability, good bounce and strength to finish in traffic. He has solid fundamentals to face on pop out. He is a sound post defender and good rebounder who understands game.
Coty Clark 6-7 225 Lawson State CC, AL - Nashville,TN native averaged 11.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists as a freshman. He is a trong-athletic combo forward who isn't afraid to bang inside on glass or attack and score with bounce at the rim.
Darren Goodson 6-5 240 Pensacola State CC, FL - Cincinnati, OH native averaged 17.1 points and 6.1rebounds as a freshman. He is a strong, athletic, and versatile combo forward. He's a smart player with good fundamental post skills and the ability to step out and shoot-from the perimeter and is a mismatch for taller foes on offensive end.
Thomas Cooper 6-5 190 CC of San Francisco , CA - Chattanooga, TN native is a D-1transfer with the ability to play both forward spots. This physical combo forward has a strong body, can post and score with quickness on blocks. He has handle to face and attack the hoop too!
Wings & Swings -
Rashad Perkins 6-6 195 Indian Hills CC, IA - Starkville,MS native transferred to Indian Hills after averaging 6.1 points and 3.8rebounds as freshman. He is a very athletic wing forward who runs floor, rebounds with bounce, and blocks shots from help side. He gets to basket and is very quick in transition game.
Malcolm Miller 6-6 195 South Plains CC, TX - Midland, TX native averaged 10.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assistt a game as a freshman. He is a long athletic-runs floor in transition and can finish with pull-up or highlight at the rim! He is a solid ballhandler who can play on the wing and can shoot it to three point land.
Tevin Baskin 6-6 220 Chipola CC, FL - Stanford, CT native is a D-1 transfer who is a quick, strong,-and athletic swing man with big time hops and the ability to shoot from three point range. He is a good defender, solid ballhandler who runs break &-can get ball to rim.
Devon Branch 6-5 175 Cloud County CC, KS - Aberdeen, MD native averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists as a freshman. He's a very long, but thin, athletic-thin-swing man who could be a point forward at next level. He defends and rebounds despite his small build, but it is his good handles and passing coupled with his basketball I.Q. that will draw the coaches!
Rod Rucker 6-5 215 NW Florida State CC, FL - Elberton, GA native averaged 10.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists as afreshman. He is a solid athlete who has ability to swing at next level. -He has good length and is a good passer-gets to basket and finishes. He is a solid perimeter shooter with three point range.
Musa Abdul -Aleem 6-5 215 Georgia Perimeter CC, GA - Riverdale, GA native averaged 14.7 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior. He is a very strong and athletic lefty wing who is a-good ballhandler-and shooter. He -can create his own shot-gets ball to basket and can score with contact in traffic.
Alfonzo Houston 6-4 205 State Fair CC, MO - Cleveland Heights, OH native-is a very athletic and quick wing-who flat out can get ball to the basket. He has a live body with big hops and handle to create drive and finish at the hoop. He is a good shooter inside arc and uses it to set up dribble drive.
Wing & Combo Guards -
Bakari Turner 6-4 195 North Dakota State CC, ND - Lewisville,TX native transferred after averaging 17.0 points and 2.8 rebounds as a freshman. He is a long,-athletic, combo who can shoot-it to three point range. He can get ball to basket and finishoff of quick first step. Good passer can be point in right system.
Aishon White 6-3 180 Chipola CC, FL - Marina, FL native is a lean and athletic combo who has a high basketball I.Q. who flat out knows how to play. He can really push it in transition, make pass to open man or finish in traffic at the rim. He has solid jumper from beyond the arc or pull-up that maes him tough to guard.
Brandon Spearman 6-3 190 Indian Hills CC IA - Chicago, IL native-is a D-1 transfer with a long and athletic frame who has combo skills. He can shoot it from three or off dribble from 15-feet. He can get ball to basket and finish in traffic or dish it to open man on wing.
Alex Phillips 6-2 185 New Mexico CC, NM - Phenix City, AL native is a long armed and athletic combo with a live body. He is a good ballhandler and defender who runs floor then gets ball to basket. He has ability to finish with contact or knock down jumper from beyond the arc to keep "D" honest.
JaMere Dismukes 6-1 175 Black Hawk CC, IL - Park Forest, IL native is a long and athletic combo who can shoot with range to three point arc. He can get ball to basket and finish with an explosive first step off the dribble. He is a solid defender on ball and a good passer in transition too!
Point Guards -
Richard Carter 6-0 175 Cloud County CC, KS - Detroit, MI native averaged 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and handed out 4.2 assists as a freshman. He is very quick and athletic point guard who can "D" you up (2.6 steals/game). He is a good ballhandler and passer who is excellent in transition where hecan get to the basket and finish.
Trantell Knight 6-0 190 Chipola CC, FL - Rentz, GA native is a transfer who averaged just over 4 assists a game as a freshman. He is a strong and quick point who has a high basketball I.Q. who understands how to run the team. He is a good ball handler and passer who can knock down three to set up penetration. Good defender too!
Brandon Morris 6-0 185 Kansas City CC, KS - Alexandria, LA native averaged 12 points, 4.0 rebounds, and handed out 4.8 assists as a freshman. He is a quick ballhandler and good-passer who is a pass first point. He has range to arc and uses it to set up penetation and pass.
