According to a source close to the program and confirmed by the Orlando Sentinel, the Central Florida Knights have added a quality big man, with a huge upside for the future, in 2013, 6-10 320-pound Justin McBride from Starke, FL Bradford High.
“He loved the location in Orlando,” Bradford Head Coach Traavis Chandler told the Sentinel. “It’s not far from home and on top of that he has family in Orlando, so that played role as well. He took an unofficial visit and loved the facilities. He loved that the facilities were brand new and felt at ease with the coaching staff.”
He averaged 15.9 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.4 blocks as a junior with his strength being a solid low post skill set, excellent hands, and the ability to catch and finish with contact in the paint. He can pop out and knock down 15-footer on elbow to the baseline and is a good passer out of the post when doubled up. he has a knack for finding open man.
He joins point guard D.J. Bowles from Cleveland, TN in the UCF Class of 2013.
