Western Michigan hits Illinois Daily-Double

According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, the Western Michigan Broncos dipped into Illinois to score a daily-double today in 6-4WMU_Broncos Charles harris from Lake Forest, Il Academy and 6-8 Darius Paul of Gurnee, IL Warren Township.

Charles Harris committed first, earlier in the day, and he will will add lots of depth on the perimeter for Western Michigan according to his AAU coach Billy Welcome.

"I think defensively is really where he’s going to shine right off the bat," Harris' AAU Coach Billy Welcome of Full Package told the Gazette. "If you don’t play ‘D’, you’re not going to play in college and Charles has the potential to be a lock-down defender. And he was for us. He can guard three positions, the 1, 2 or 3, because of his length and athleticism."

He averaged 15 points and seven rebounds as a junior at Lake Forest. He has solid range on his jumper off the dribble inside the arc and can finish drive at the rim with flush. He will add depth on the wing and his "D" could earn him major playing time with the Broncos.

Darius Paul, has done the same tonight, as he joined Harris, his AAU teammate making a commitment to the WMU Broncos.

"It's great," Harris told the Gazette. "Hopefully we can be roommates. He's a great friend of mine. Our games complement each other well."

Paul has a lot of tools to work with around the hoop where he can score with either hand on the blocks, pop and hit 12-footer or attack the hoop with dribble. he can board, outlet and run the floor. If he has a knock its the fact he tends to float at times, but his potential out weighs that for the Broncos as he can be a good one in the MAC!

Harris & Paul join 6-8 Kellen McCormick (Pontiac Notre Dame), 6-5 Connar Tava (Warren De La Salle), 6-4 Taylor Perry (Rochester) and 6-1 Jared Klein (Otsego) in the Broncos' 2012 class.
