RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada head men’s basketball coach David Carter has announced the signing of Cheikh Ali Fall to a
National Letter of Intent to play for the Wolf Pack in the 2012-13 season. Fall joins guard Marqueze Coleman and forwards Cole Huff and Raphael Carter to sign during the early period.
Fall is a 6-9, 240-pound center who is in his sophomore year at Barstow Community College in Barstow, Calif. Last season, Fall helped BCC to a first place finish in the Foothill Conference posting, a 10-4 mark and the team went 22-7 overall. Originally from Senegal, he attended Meitoku Gijuku School in Kochi, Japan. He earned All-Japan honors and was the top scorer and rebounder in the Western Conference during the 2007-08 season.
“We are excited to add Ali as our fourth recruit during the early signing period,” Carter said. “He is a very skilled, athletic big guy who will give us a presence at both ends of the floor and we feel he will contribute to our front line next season.”
