Another top one hundred prospect is back on the board, now that 6-7 Montrezl Harrell has been granted a releaseMontrezl_Harrell from national letter to Virginia Tech.

According to a press release to the Hampton Daily Press, the Virginia Tech Hokies have given Harrell a full release so he can sign with a school and play next year.

"We'd have loved to have kept him, but Coach James Johnson's position is if the young man doesn't want to be here with us on his own part, then we won't keep him here," Tom Gabbard, Tech associate A.D. said in the release. "Coach Johnson would like for him to be here, but you only get one chance in your life time to play college basketball. We released him yesterday."

Harrell is a physical power man who can play either forward spot at the next level. He is a slasher and driver who can attack the rim with best in the class. He has a good mid-range game, but to move to wing spot full-tiem he will have to really work on extending his range. He will help defensively with his length and quicks as a freshman. Could be a steal for right school as he will produce on both ends, and will be around for at least three years as he builds wing skills to go with his length and quickness.

Reportedly he is already hearing from Kentucky, Louisville, Cincinnati and North Carolina  State, but that list could grow, so stay tuned.

He joins four other top one hundred talents who haven't made their college decisions during the binding spring period. Also, still available are 6-9 Chris Obekpa, 6-6 Savon Goodman, 6-8 Devonta Pollard, and Torian Graham.
