Dakarai Allen will get offensive this summer

We had a chance to sit down with 6-5 wing guard Dakarai Allen this past week at the Pangos All-American Camp and he was a young man who has one mission this summer and that’s to prove to
coach’s that he is more than a defensive stopper.
I just need to know what its going to take to get coaches to see me as a player who can score,” Dakarai Allen asked me at the Pangos. “ They all tell me I can defend at their level, but they want to see my game offensively.”
So after he went through a couple quick shooting drills and knocked down the 15-17 footer with amazing consistency…all I could tell him was…”Shoot the ball more!”
Something he said he has been working on, he said, but he knows he is going to have to do this summer if he is going to close the deal with the Pac Twelve and Mountain West schools who are recruiting him.
“I know now I have to get aggressive and be more offensively minded,” Allen concurred. “I know I can shoot it off the dribble from the arc or pull-up…I’ve just got to show the coaches that is a part of my game this summer.”
If he does look for his stock to rise in a hurry, as he has the quicks and length to finish at rim, board and start the break to go with is ability to lock you down defensively. He has lots of interest from West Coast schools, as he listed:
“USC, Colorado, UNLV, California, San Diego State, Washington State, and UCLA” among schools he is hearing from. Look for that list to grow and the offers to come in early July if he gets offensive this summer.
