Head coach Bruce Weber went back to Big Ten territory to land his first commitment for Kansas State’s
Class of 2013.
Alex Etherington, a 6-foot-6 forward from Hamilton Heights (Arcadia, Ind.), committed to the Wildcats after visiting Manhattan, Kan. His older brother, Austin, plays for Indiana.
Etherington did not play on the summer circuit last summer after suffering a near-debilitating injury in 2011 as a high school sophomore. Last season he popped in 22 points and his stock rose.
He also attracted offers from New Mexico, Boston College and Xavier. Ironically Weber recruited Etheringtoni’s father, Brett, when he was an assistant at Purdue.
